Pungent, strong; use sparingly.

Saffron (spice)
Dried, looks like threads, colors other foods yellow.

Slightly pungent.

Tarragon (herb)
Bitter, a bit like anise.

Thyme (herb)
Strong, aromatic, almost pine like aroma.

Turmeric (spice)
Pungent; adds yellow color; use sparingly.

Sweet; buy 100% pure extract, ideally in non-alcoholic, glycerine base.
